Description

After a cup of coffee at Brasserie Cozy you get on your bike. The Leenderbos and the Malpie are part of a gigantic nature reserve that stretches from Eindhoven to the Belgian Achel. Coniferous forests and heaths predominate on the sandy ridge, and stream valleys meander from higher to lower elevations. There are also a number of fens and the lucky cyclist will see one of the 300 Kempen heath sheep grazing between the tough grasses. The route first runs through the authentic hamlet of Leenderstrijp to the Belgian border. Further on the route you will pass the medieval Venbergsemolen. This water mill ground corn from farmers from Someren, who were obliged to offer their grain here. The Duke of Brabant donated part of the mill to a nunnery.
