Castles route Helmond, Gemert, Laarbeek, Aarle-Rixtel

A historic city and a history in the metal and textile industry: that is Helmond. The city consists of four cores, three of which are former villages: Mierlo-Hout, Brouwhuis and Stiphout. They have each managed to retain their own village character. You cycle via the village of Bakel along the Nederheide. After a look at the pilgrimage village of Handel, you will pass KOKS Binnen & Buiten Genieten for a cup of coffee. In Gemert you can visit the Castle of Gemert. The main building of this castle was built in 1740 on a cellar vault of the original castle from 1391. The front gate was built around 1600. The castle is surrounded by a park, which consists of extensive farmlands with various farms. A beautiful route through the Grotelse Bos takes you to Aarle-Rixtel.
