The three lakes route

We start at the petting zoo at the end of the Burg. Bruins Slotsingel in Alphen aan de Rijn. We drive through the beautiful Heempark on the Windepad to Ter Aar and then we reach the first lake / pond, the Langeraarse Plassen. These lakes were created by peat extraction in the 16th century, at the northernmost lake, the Geerpolder Plas, among others. the Blue Heron and the Cormorant for Tussen knpp. 07 and 06 drive along the Westeinderplassen, also created by peat extraction, at Oude Wetering take the ferry and drive a few kilometers along the Braassemermeer and enjoy the beautiful view over the lake with its many water sports. Then take another ferry and drive on a nice path along the Heimanswetering. After this we drive back to Alphen aan den Rijn, we drive straight through the new housing estates, crossing-free on a beautiful nature path under a dike and via knpp 17 and 20 we arrive at the starting point of this beautiful route. Along the way stopped a few times at a terrace, all in all a very nice route, highly recommended.
