Tour of Oirschotse and Sonse Heide

From Son en Breugel you can take a beautiful trip to the Oirschotse Heide. First you loosen your legs as you cycle along the leafy Wilhelmina Canal. On the other side of the water you pass through Batadorp. This district was built in 1934 for the workers of the Bata shoe factory. The original buildings are considered a protected villagescape. Further on you cross the Beatrix Canal and soon drive through the forests of the Oirschotse Heide. On the cycle path you can fully enjoy the peace and the fragrant conifers. In Oirschot you will see some beautiful monumental buildings. The Maria Church is located on the Vrijthof: a twelfth-century building in Romanesque style. Just before Best you will pass two special chapels. The route ends at Hotel & Restaurant La Sonnerie.
