Tour along the lakes and the Meije

This cycle route leads you through water-rich polders and an extensive peat meadow area, but also along medieval waterways that lie between small, characteristic villages in the Vecht region. The route starts at the Tourist Transfer Point (TOP) Oortjespad. In this visitor center you can get all the information about the area that you want to know before you start cycling the route. Along the river De Meije you can see old farms and the almost sixty meter high white water tower from 1932. Today you will discover the Hollandse Venen, a water-rich lowland around, among other things, the Nieuwkoopse Plassen. They form some of the last extensive low moor areas in the Netherlands. Then you drive along the beautifully winding Vecht and the Loosdrechtse Plassen back to your starting point.
