On the border of North Brabant and Limburg, cycling through nature is a delight. From Merselo, you can quickly reach the Ballonzuilbossen. This nature reserve takes its name from the Ballonzuil: a monument dating from 1896 commemorating the landing of a French hot air balloon in Merselo in 1871. Up to junction 97, the nature reserves follow one another in quick succession: you'll cycle through Zwartwater, the De Groote Slink estate, and the Sint Anthonis Forestry. You'll then head to Overloon, the village where a devastating battle between the Allies and the Germans took place at the end of World War II. You can learn more about this at L117 or by visiting the Overloon War Museum. In Smakt, you'll pass the St. Joseph Chapel, dating from 1699. The route ends at Camping DenTiel.
Below you will find various suggestions for breaks that you can visit during your route. These are divided into different categories, making it easy for you to choose.
