Provided by: route.nl
Your cycling route starts at Hotel Restaurant de Baronie. First you drive to the old village of Cuijk. It owes its name to the Celtic word'Keukja\\\', which refers to the curvature in the Maas near Cuijk. Here you cross the Maas towards Milsbeek. To the north of Gennep you will find the imposing Reichswald and to the south the Maasheggen landscape, the wooded sand dunes and the sturdy Maas are characteristic. Just before the end of the route, you will discover Boxmeer Castle Museum, in the cellars of the old castle. Until the end of the 18th century, the lords and wives of the castle held sway over the Free Glory of Boxmeer. The Sisters of Julie Postel took Boxmeer Castle into use in 1896 as a hospital and later a nursing home.
Below you will find various suggestions for breaks that you can visit during your route. These are divided into different categories, making it easy for you to choose.
