Your route starts at Boerderijwinkel & Melktap Wilp. On this route you will only encounter small villages and especially a lot of nature. From the recreational lakes at Bussloo to castles at Empe: let yourself be surprised by this beautiful part of the Netherlands. You drive a bit on the IJssel. Near junction 37 you can cross over to the originally medieval castle de Nijenbeek. Client Karel III van Gelre wanted to use the castle to control shipping on the IJssel. You continue towards Empe, with a small detour along nice little hamlets and villages. Kasteel Voorstonden - with its beautiful associated park - is the namesake of the hamlet of the same name. The thickest giant sequoia in the Netherlands stands on the estate. The tree, planted in 1865, has a trunk circumference of 7.3 meters!
