After about 3 kilometers on the cycle route you will come across the first fort: Fort Voordorp. This beautifully restored fort is part of the New Dutch Waterline. Other sights you will encounter along the way include Molen Geesina, Fort Ruigenhoek, Fort de Gagel and Mill de Trouwe Waghter. You will eventually end your tour at Van der Valk Hotel De Bilt - Utrecht. Here you can relax after an active day on the bike. You can also visit the restaurant for a delicious, relaxed dinner or a drink. You deserve that after your trip! At the start of the route you cycle through the recreation area at the Maarsseveense Plassen. These lakes were created by sand extraction that was necessary for the construction of the Overvecht district in Utrecht in the 1960s. Many water sports are practiced in the area.
