In De Alde Faenen National Park you will be captivated by the vastness of the open water and the shelter of the forests. You will also find numerous mills that had to drain the area. The bike tour starts in De Alde Faenen. The peat bog covers almost 4,000 hectares and is very varied. From here you cycle east to the De Ikkers mill, a former spider mill that was rebuilt in 1970 to replace another polder mill that had fallen into disrepair. You cycle further via the mill called Grou, to the Haensmolen: a spider mill that was probably built in the eighteenth century to drain the island of De Burg. Get off in the nice Grou for a stopover at Pavilion PrikMar!
