Description

With approximately 160 inhabitants and a city charter since 1344, Bronkhorst is the smallest town in the Netherlands. It has more of a picturesque village feel, with authentic farmhouses and a beautiful setting amidst farmland. Original coats of arms hang in the chapel, and the foundations of the former castle can still be found on the castle hill. Many call the Achterhoek landscape a kind of "backdrop": every few hundred meters, the region looks different. This is particularly striking on the cycle route between Wichmond and Toldijk. In Toldijk, take a break at Café Restaurant Den Bremer! The IJssel is one of the most beautiful rivers in the country. A beautiful cycle path has been constructed along the dikes along the water.
