Description

Your route starts at Eetcafe Jansen en Jansen in Hengelo in Achterhoek. First you cycle straight through the Het Oude Schot nature reserve towards Ruurlo. Here you will pass the Ruurlo Doolhof, the largest maze in the Netherlands with 1188 meters of paths. Then you cross the Baakse Beek. From Ruurlo you cycle to the castle village of Vorden, where you will find eight castles. Vorden Castle is on the edge of the village, the other seven are in a circle around it. A little later you will cycle past De Kiefskamp Castle, the only castle in Vorden that does not date from the Middle Ages. The current house was built in 1776, in Louis XVI style. The estate borders the Vorden Castle estate. Then you cycle back to Hengelo.
