Tour of Twickel Castle and the Borkeld

From here you cycle through the nature reserve of Borkeld and the Elsenerveld further on. You cycle all the way to Delden. The absolute showpiece here is Landgoed Twickel: the largest private estate in the Netherlands, with an impressive old castle with forecourt, gardens and outbuildings. The estate has around one hundred and fifty farms, recognizable by their black and white shutters, and other buildings such as the water tower and the sawmill. The estate is surrounded by extensive forests where you can cycle beautifully. Back in Delden it is time for a bite to eat and a drink at Gasterij't Oaldershoes. Via the town of Goor you cycle back to your starting point. In this pleasant town there are a number of beautiful buildings, such as the Hofkerk which originally dates from 1600.
