You don't have to go to France or Germany for a day of cycling along vineyards, but just go to the Achterhoek. This route takes you to no fewer than six vineyards! You get the beautiful National Landscape Winterswijk as a bonus!
After you have jumped on the saddle, you quickly drive through Winterswijk. At the course of the stream De Slinge you pass De Oliemölle, a former double water mill that originally dates from the fourteenth century. Take a moment to enjoy this picturesque picture. Further on is the Venemansmolen, a flour mill from 1898.
In the outlying area you drive through National Landscape Winterswijk. Here you will see a beautiful mix of grasslands, bushes, stream valleys and wooded banks. What immediately strikes you here: the tranquility! The route also takes you through picturesque towns such as Aalten and Lichtenvoorde. Groenlo was a fortified city for centuries. In the center are a number of places of interest, such as the Oude Calixtus Church, which was built between 1275 and 1520. There is so much to experience in the Achterhoek!
