Castle Gardens Route near Arcen

In the wooded area of North Limburg, cycling through nature and charming old villages is wonderfully peaceful. The first few kilometers will get your legs moving as you cycle through the agricultural landscape to Broekhuizen. Here, you'll cross the Meuse River by ferry. On the other side, you'll pass through Arcen, where you'll see the ruins of a fifteenth-century fortified tower. You'll also pass the famous Kasteeltuinen (Castle Gardens). Then you'll pass Jagersrust, a lovely spot for a break! Further on, you'll cycle through the Leermarkse Heide, a nature reserve that's part of Maasduinen National Park. At Velden, you'll cross the Meuse, then through Grubbenvorst. Through the woods of Houthuizerheide, you'll head to Melderslo, after which you'll cycle along the Grote Molenbeek stream. The route ends at Clevers Tienray Ice Cream Parlor.
