Castle Gardens Route near Arcen

In the wooded area of North Limburg it is wonderfully quiet cycling through nature and beautiful old villages. The first few kilometres you will loosen up your legs, while you cycle through the agricultural landscape to Broekhuizen. Here you cross the Maas by ferry. On the other side you cycle through Arcen, where you will see the ruins of a fifteenth-century fortified tower. You will also pass the famous Kasteeltuinen. Then you will pass Jagersrust, a nice place to get off your bike! Further on you cycle through the Leermarkse Heide, a nature reserve that is part of the Maasduinen National Park. At Velden you cross the Maas, then you come through Grubbenvorst. Through the forests of the Houthuizerheide you go to Melderslo, after which you cycle along the Grote Molenbeek. The route ends at IJssalon Clevers Tienray.
