Castle Gardens Route near Arcen

In the wooded area of North Limburg it is wonderfully peaceful to cycle through nature and beautiful old villages. The first kilometers will stretch your legs as you drive through the agricultural landscape to Broekhuizen. Here you cross the Maas with a ferry. On the other side you drive through Arcen, where you will see the ruins of a fifteenth-century fortress tower. You will also pass the famous Castle Gardens. A nice place to take a break! Further on you cycle through the Leermarkse Heide, a nature reserve that is part of the Maasduinen National Park. At Velden you cross the Maas, then you pass through Grubbenvorst. You go through the forests of the Houthuizerheide to Melderslo, after which you drive along the Grote Molenbeek. The route ends at IJssalon Clevers Tienray.
