Tour of Weerribben Wieden National Park

De Weerribben-De Wieden National Park is one of the most important wetlands in Europe. With its wide variety of open water, reed beds, and swamp forests, the Weerribben National Park forms a natural habitat for many birds, mammals, and insect species. You can park your car at the De Weerribben visitor center, which offers a wealth of information about the nature reserve and its wildlife. A special highlight on this route is the Ossenzijl tjasker mill, which has been supplying water to the polder land beyond since 1977. The mill is also worth a close-up visit and uniquely characterizes the landscape. Stop at Geertien's for a cozy traditional Dutch café and a lovely waterside terrace! Ossenzijl and Kalenberg are also great places for a break.
