Description

De Biesbosch National Park consists of a number of river islands and sand and mud flats, located between the rivers Boven-Merwede and Amer. It is wonderful to cycle between the many creeks and willow tidal forests. Before you arrive at Fort Steurgat, you can read the poems entitled'Merwevinken\\\','The elements\\\' and'My hometown\\\' on the route. Fort Steurgat is part of the New Dutch Waterline, which was constructed to defend the Dutch rivers. Then you see Fort Bakkerskil. Like all forts on the New Dutch Waterline, this fortress was also strategically built in a weak spot in the defense line. After junction 74, get off your bike at De Pannekoekenbakker Woudrichem to enjoy this beautiful day together while enjoying a delicious artisanal pancake. Enjoy a wonderful view of the water.
