Description

From Serooskerke you can quickly cycle to the port of Burghsluis, for a cup of coffee at Bar Petit Restaurant t Oliegeultje. The pleasure harbor was used in the past for fishing and as a working harbor for Rijkswaterstaat. Just before Burghsluis is the Plompe Toren, the only remaining reminder of the drowned village of Koudekerke. Burgh-Haamstede consists of two clearly recognizable villages: Burgh and Haamstede. In mill de Graanhalm you can see an exhibition about this windmill. The lighthouse in nearby Nieuw-Haamstede is a well-known appearance, which could be found on the old 250 guilder banknote. Renesse is a ring village with the Jacobus Church in the middle of the ring, a Gothic building whose tower dates from before 1458. The nave dates from the 16th century.
