Cycling through the Schoorlse Dunes

You start this route in Groet at Restaurant De Bokkesprong with Hans and Stacey. The restaurant is located in an authentic farmhouse that has been completely renovated. Enjoy a delicious lunch, dinner, or a cup of coffee. From here, you'll explore the Schoorl Dunes. The expansive Schoorl dune area is among the most beautiful in the Netherlands. Nowhere are the dunes wider or higher! The sand in the Schoorl Dunes is very low in calcium, allowing heather to grow. In some places, the sand is allowed to drift, spontaneously creating new dunes and hollows. The dunes "walk," so to speak. Before you know it, you'll be back at the end point, but first, you'll pass two Dutch windmills: the Damlandermolen and the Bosmolen.
