Forests and heaths of the southwestern Veluwe

This beautiful cycling route through forests and heaths is located entirely within the borders of Ede, Bennekom, Wolfheze, Mossel and Heelsum.

Renkums Brook Valley
Anyone who wants to get to know the forests and heaths of the Southwest Veluwe will get their money's worth during this cycle route. You cycle through or along the following nature reserves: Wageningse Berg, De Sysselt, Edese Bos, Edese Hei, Ginkelse Hei, Roekel, Wekeromse Zand, North Ginkel, South Ginkel and Renkumse Beekdal. Extensive forests, sand drifts, fens and heaths, which you can explore by bicycle. The Ginkelse and Eder Heide enjoy great fame, where the shepherds can be found almost daily with their flocks of sheep.

Concordia
During your route you will also encounter windmill Concordia. The octagonal tower mill from 1865 was restored in 2007/2008 and is now ready to grind again. In De Beken Nature Information Center (Staatsbosbeheer) you can learn more about the Renkums Beekdal and the Renkumse Poort, an ecological connecting zone between the Veluwe and the Rhine. After a cup of coffee or a delicious lunch at the associated Boscafé De Beken, on the Veluwe estate of the same name, you cycle back to your starting point.
