Description
This route takes you past several dolmens located around Borger. You will also enjoy the beautiful Drenthe landscape. First, you cycle past a spot where five dolmens lie close together: D21 through D25. Via Buinen, you ride to Boswachterij Exloo, a wonderfully peaceful nature reserve. Here, you can take a look at dolmens D29 and D30. Around Westdorp, you ride through a vast landscape of grasslands and fields. Further on, you cycle along the Buinen-Schoonoord Canal, which was constructed in the 1920s as a job creation project. The canal was never profitable and is now used solely for recreational purposes. Finally, you cycle through the expansive nature of Boswachterij Gieten-Borger. Via Gasselte, you return to Camping Het Horstmannsbos.
