Your route starts at Pannenkoekhoes De Stroper. At junction 11 you follow part of the Dinkel river. This river originates in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia between the towns of Coesfeld and Ahaus. In the Netherlands, the river enters the country at the town of Losser. The river meanders through Twente before leaving the country at Denekamp and flowing into the Vechte. This river later reenters the Netherlands as the Overijsselse Vecht. One of the first churches in Twente was built in Ootmarsum around 770. The town received city rights in 1300. The emerging industry has passed over Ootmarsum, so the center has remained authentic. Your route also leads past Egheria Estate, the Borgelinkmolen and Huis Singraven, beautiful places!

The country estate Egheria was built in 1908 by the textile manufacturer Hendrikus Egbertus ten Cate. 'Egheria' is named after the first names of his sons Egbert, Hendrik, Richard and Arnold. Koninklijke Nijverdal - Ten Cate NV has become a modern company. Villa Egheria was built in 1908 by Karel Muller. He designed the service building at the beginning of the driveway in 1910. Leonard Springer built the park in 1911. In 1948 the villa was rebuilt by Gerrit Feenstra and Hendrik Barend van Broekhuizen. 'Egheria' is an estate full of mystique. Visitors experience that 'mysterious' at the old farmhouse 'Erve Middelkamp' and 'Het Koepeltje' on the Tankenberg.

Huis Singraven

7588RN Dinkelland

In 1381 the Singraven estate was first mentioned as an agricultural farmstead owned by the bishop of Utrecht. In 1398 the house came into the possession of a family who fortified it into a manor in 1415. In 1651 the dilapidated house was demolished and completely rebuilt. The house came into the hands of different owners over the years. The last private owner had the house and other parts of the estate renovated and restored on a large scale. The owner also housed a large collection of art and antiques in the mansion. This collection can still be admired in Huis Singraven. The owner transferred the country house to the Edwina van Heek Foundation in 1956. Since then, this foundation ensures that the estate and the manor are well maintained, because it is cultural heritage. Between November and April you can take a guided tour of Huis Singraven. You can also take a lovely walk on the estate and you will also find the Molen van Singraven on this site.
