Tour of Boetelerveld and Sallandse Heuvelrug

Your route starts at Jorink Bakery - Lunchroom - Ice Cream Parlor. The Boetelerveld nature reserve of 170 hectares is located southeast of Raalte. Here you will find the last piece that remains of the moist heath that used to cover all of Salland. The area is grazed by a herd of Scottish Highland cattle. With this route you also cycle through the Sallandse Heuvelrug National Park. You drive through rolling forests where deciduous and coniferous trees grow. Sometimes you have views over meadows and fields, which only makes this already beautiful route even more enjoyable. You can see pine trees on the vast heathland. When you encounter the flock of sheep grazing the heath, you feel like you're back in the old days: a nice experience. You will also pass the sheepfold, near Haarle.
