Cycling along the most beautiful heathland villages of Drenthe

First, you cycle through a nature-rich area to the village of Steenbergen, named after the 'mountain of stones' just outside the village. Hunebed D01 consists of twelve supporting stones, six capstones, and two closing stones. It is the northernmost hunebed in Drenthe. Next, you cycle on to the esdorp Norg. Like many other esdorps in Drenthe, this village has a rich history. As early as the beginning of the Middle Ages, this village was mentioned in charters. Its exact age is unknown. You ride through the Bunnerveen to the esdorp Roden, where you can visit the manor house Landhuis Mensinge. A large forest surrounds the manor.
