Description
Noordwolde is located almost at the'three provinces\\\' point of the provinces of Friesland, Drenthe and Overijssel. A wonderful cycling area where you can discover beautiful old places.
Glacier Valley
Just below Noordwolde, at junction 15, you start the cycling tour. Soon you come to the town of de Hoeve, a combination of various hamlets. In 1646 only heathland was visible on the map of the area. You cycle past windmill De Hoeve to De Lende. This river is located in a valley formed by a glacier tongue. The valley became overgrown with raised bog, which was then removed again during the peat excavations.
Oldeber sale
The oldest town in Southeast Friesland can be found close to junction 95. The first descriptions of Oldeberkoop date from 1228: Frisian warriors would gather at'Brokope\\\' to invade Drenthe together. A little later you cycle into the Drenthe village of Vledder, with two greens: the large and the small green.
