Tour to the sea from Vlaardingen

Your cycling route starts at Delta Hotel / Grand Café Nautique in Vlaardingen. You first cycle to Maasland, a picturesque centuries-old mining village. In 1574, this area was still flooded when William of Orange had the dikes breached to drive out the Spaniards. At Hoek van Holland you can enjoy the dunes and the sea. With the wind at your back you drive along the Nieuwe Waterweg back to Vlaardingen. You can also take a trip to the Staelduinse Bos, a nature reserve with stately avenues and old deciduous trees that was designed as an estate in the nineteenth century. You will also cycle through Maassluis, which was founded around 1340. In the nineteenth century, Maassluis became world famous for its towage company. You will still find the National Towing Museum there.
