Description

You walk to the east via the Cadets Kamp nature reserve. In addition to forest, you can also see a beautiful sand drift here. On the other side of the highway you will discover the extensive forest area Boswachterij Dorst. It consists mainly of Scots pines that were planted in the early nineteenth century. Heath remnants and deciduous forests can be seen in the area. In the mid-nineteenth century, many trees were felled because the area of 1,117 hectares was used as a military training area. This resulted in many sand drifts. Exmoor ponies and Scottish Highlanders now graze the moorland, naturally maintaining vegetation.
