The perfect combination of nature and culture! The route starts at the fairytale estate Heerlijkheid Mariënwaerdt and leads you through the beautiful river landscape along the Linge.
The River Linge is a branch of the Waal and the longest river in the Netherlands. This was once a raging stream. Anyone who sees it slowly meandering through the Betuwe landscape can hardly imagine it anymore. This route takes you by bike over winding dikes, past waving reed fields, lush orchards and picturesque dike villages. The ferry or water taxi is ready to take you to the other side of the Merwede where the robust Loevestein Castle soon rises on the horizon. Want to enjoy it longer? Then stay the night on the estate or the castle.
Below you will find various suggestions for breaks that you can visit during your route. These are divided into different categories, making it easy for you to choose.
