The perfect combination of nature and culture! The route starts at the fairytale estate Heerlijkheid Mariënwaerdt and leads you through the beautiful river landscape along the Linge.
The river Linge is a side arm of the Waal and the longest river in the Netherlands. This was once a raging stream. Anyone who now sees it slowly meandering through the landscape of the Betuwe can hardly imagine it. This route takes you by bike over meandering dikes past waving reed fields, lush orchards and picturesque dike villages. The ferry or water taxi is ready to take you to the other side of the Merwede, where the robust Slot Loevestein soon rises on the horizon. Enjoy longer? Then stay overnight on the estate or the castle.
