Description

Dorst is a beautiful village around the Sint-Marculphus Church from 1912. From here you can take a nice tour around the canals of Breda. The water is fed by the Aa or Weerijs, a stream that originates in Belgium. Further afield is Breda Castle, which dates from 1353. Where the Nassaus once lived, the Royal Military Academy is now located - right next to Valkenberg city park, where the Nassaus had their falcons hunted. Put your bike away: you are close to the Grote Markt with all its terraces. In addition to beautiful buildings, you immediately see the fifteenth-century Grote Kerk. In this church you can see the mausoleums of some Nassaus.
