Tour of the Nieuwkoopse plassen, the Hoef, Woerdense Verlaat

the Zonneveer sails on Saturdays and Sundays in May. From June 1 to the second half of September every day except Monday, the ferry does not operate in strong winds and bad weather. the ferry departs at 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. it is therefore important to be in a certain place at that time (see below).

the cycle tour starts at Nieuwkoop and goes via the village of Noorden to the Amstel. you first cycle along the west side to the north. At the Hoef you cross the road and cycle south along the east side. in the Hoef there is an opportunity to sit for a while: the Strooppot, you pass by. 

The route can possibly be shortened by crossing at junction 58 and going south on the other side.

At Woerdense Verlaat, at junction 80, you have to decide what you are going to do. The ferry departs at junction 83. this is about 5 km from here. so you have to be here at 11 o'clock, 1 o'clock or 3 o'clock. The departure is at the unloading quay near the Roman Catholic Church, opposite Café De Klinker. there is a terrace at this café and also at bistro bar het Leeuwtje, 50 meters further on. 

If you do not achieve this, it is better to choose an alternative (slightly shorter) bicycle: 

alternative 1: cycle straight ahead, cross the bridge and follow the road. At the T-junction at the end, cross the bridge and almost immediately turn right onto the Hollandse Kade. After some time you arrive at  the boarding point for the Zonneveer return, departure times 12 hours, 2 hours and 4 hours. If you have not made it to this time, cycle to junction 57 and from there follow the original route. 

alternative 2: you don't take the ferry at all. To do this, go from junction 80 to junction 19 and continue the route. 

near the village of Meije, a cycle path through the lakes to Nieuwkoop starts at the water tower'het pencil\\\'. You will also pass the opportunity'Beach Summer\\\'. 

on the other side, at Zuideinde, between Zuidhoek and Nieuwkoop, you have to turn left for a short distance, then turn right onto the cycle path and then turn right towards Nieuwkoop.
