It Fryske Gea has one nature reserve on the Wadden Islands:'t Oerd on the eastern tip of Ameland. With a size of 1100 hectares, the bird-rich't Oerd, the salt marsh area De Hon and the Kooioerdstuifdijk are of international significance. The highest dune, the Oerdblinkert, the rare plants and mushrooms and the countless birds and butterflies are more than worth a visit. By bike and on foot, it means a day of pure enjoyment.
