Description

The Horsmeertjes (Horspolders):
These two dune lakes form a submerged dune valley that was created by the construction of a drift dike to the south.
They are separated from each other by a drift dike in a north-south direction. They have wide reed collars.
They are areas with a special flora and fauna. Including many birds. In the wide reed collars, for example, marsh harrier, bluethroat, bittern and bearded male breed. The last two species are on the so-called'Red List\\\', one
list of endangered and vulnerable bird species.
