Description
This route takes you through and around Loenen in Gelderland. A beautiful walk through wooded nature and the picturesque village itself. Put on your walking shoes at Hotel Restaurant De Loenermark. After fresh coffee and a cake you are ready to leave. The first part you walk along the Groenendaalseweg, surrounded by trees. After following the road for about a kilometer, you now walk through extensive deciduous and coniferous forests. The walk continues on unpaved paths. Just before you arrive back at your starting point, you pass Kasteel ter Horst. This is an impressive summer residence from 1577, built by Arnhem mayor Wijnand Hackhort (1522-1563). The castle has remained the property of the noble family for seven generations. After eleven kilometers you arrive back at the hotel.
