In the middle of a varied landscape with orchards, meadows, willows and reed fields flows 108 km long, the Linge, the longest river in the Netherlands. The Linge river and its floodplains, dikes and dike villages form a unique, fairytale landscape to blow away the cobwebs. First you explore the area around Rietveld and Arkel. With the Bicycle and Foot Ferry Carolinge you cross the Linge from Arkel to Spijk. This charming ferry service has a long history. At the ferry you will also find a tea room with a small menu and a terrace where you can sit down for a break. Then you explore the area around Spijk and walk through the Lingebos. For the construction of, among other things, the cloverleaf at Gorinchem, sand was extracted from the Lingebos area. This created a recreational lake.
Below you will find various suggestions for breaks that you can visit during your route. These are divided into different categories, making it easy for you to choose.
