Description
Cycle route for the completion of the Leeuwarden West flow project
The municipality of Leeuwarden and Wetterksip Fryslan worked together from 2017 to 2019 in a project to improve water quality in Leeuwarden West.
For that we have
- canals and ditches dredged
- new culverts installed to allow water to enter
- control systems installed on existing culverts to vary the flow routes
- rainwater drains from flats moved from sewerage to open water
The route goes through residential areas, but also through the Leeuwarden forest
