Gartenreichroute Fürst Franz
A beautiful route around the Bauhaus town of Dessau that connects the castles and parks in the Dessau-Wörlitz park landscape. The 68 km long ring road is named after the monarch and duke Leopold III Frederik Frans van Anhalt-Dessau (1740-1817). Already at the age of 18 he ruled Anhalt-Dessau. Because of his modern way of governing, he was also called'father Frans\\\'. Frans was best known for his landscape design, with the Dessau-Wörlitz park landscape being his most famous project.
You can start the Gartenreichroute at any point. You cycle through the unique river landscape around the Elbe. Along the way you will discover the most beautiful castles and other architectural gems. Tip for the road: the Wörlitzer Park, which has been on the UNESCO heritage list since 2000. Here you can relax, take a walk or take a tour of the pedal boat.
