Unstrutradweg
With the Unstrutrad you follow the river Unstrut for about 200 kilometers through Thuringia and Saxony-Anhalt. The river rises in Kefferhausen in Thuringia and meanders through a wonderful cycling landscape until it flows into the Saale near Naumburg. With the Unstrutradweg you can get to know the southern part of Saxony-Anhalt in a relaxed way.
The highlight of the route is the Saale-Unstrut wine region. This region owes its name to the two rivers Saale and Unstrut, which have determined a large part of the landscape. In addition to the quality wines that the Saale-Untstrut produces, the region is also rich in a lot of cultural treasures: castles, chateaux, monasteries, you will find them all in this special wine region.
Tip for the road: you can rent canoes and boats at various places along the Unstrut. Ideal on hot days!
A visit to historic Naumburg is also recommended. Last year, the famous Naumburger Dom was added to the UNESCO heritage list.
