Saale cycle path
The Saale cycle path follows the River Saale for over 400 kilometers through the three federal states of Thuringia, Bavaria and Saxony-Anhalt. The route is one of the most beautiful and varied river routes in Germany. When you cycle through the picturesque valleys and vineyards you will understand why.
You can cycle the Saale cycle path in nine stages. From the source in the Fichtelgebirge to the mouth of the Elbe in Schönebeck. The route is suitable for young and old, with occasional ascents. For those who prefer to cycle with an e-bike or do not want to take a bicycle with them: there are plenty of rental and charging points along the route.
There is plenty to do and see along the way. Not only do you enjoy the nature around the river and the landscape, but the cities along the route are also worth a visit. Recommended are Jena, Halle and Naumburg.
