Selketalstieg
With this walking route you walk through the east of the Harz and follow the valley of the Selke. The route takes you to the popular UNESCO town of Quedlinburg. The route is 70 km long and quite tough in places. Of course, this route can also be walked in different stages.
The Selketal-Stieg is not only a hiking adventure, but also an interesting cultural experience. The River Selke flows through the Duchy of Anhaltiner, where you will meet the former Anhalt royal house, now in ruins, and Ballenstedt Castle. Mining was also carried out in this former duchy. There was a lot of silver and even gold to be found here. During the walk you will experience more about this.
