Wertachtal Hiking trail

The easy hike in the wildly romantic valley of the river Wertach leads through pristine landscapes and picturesque villages. This starts on extensive cattle pastures. After a short while you reach the small forge with the beautiful houses. The route continues through the forest and past meadows on the Wertach through a still intact natural paradise. After crossing the wooden bridge, a trip to the old pitch mine is really worthwhile. Later you leave the river valley and walk slightly uphill through the forest. Via small villages you will reach the impressive pilgrimage church of Maria Rain. Afterwards, a beautiful view of the Schnakenhöhe awaits, before you reach the Wertach again on a beautiful path and hike to the starting point. This is one of the few places that offers a direct view of Nesselwang's home mountain, the Alpspitze.
