Tour of Kootwijkerzand and Garderen

After a night of luxury camping at I Love Glamping, in the middle of the Veluwe, you get on your bike. Via Kootwijk and the Asselsche Heide you drive to Hoog-Soeren, which enjoys a protected village view because of its authentic historical appearance. A little further on you will pass the Aardhuis, the former hunting chalet of William III that serves as a museum. After you have crossed the Uddelsche Buurtveld, a large heathland, you will pass a beautiful lake just before Uddel: the Uddelermeer, created by melting ice during the last ice age. You continue past the Houtdorperveld, one of the largest heathlands in the Netherlands. In some places the horizon seems to be tens of kilometers away. You cycle back through the quiet, dense forests of Boswachterij Kootwijk, past green deciduous trees and fragrant conifers.
