Description
A sporty route that takes you through various climbs through the beautiful dune area of Zuid-Kennermerland and past country houses such as Duin en Kruidberg, Beeckestijn, Koningshof and Elswout.
You can park and start at different points:
- Visitor center de Kennemerduinen, Zeeweg 12 Overveen (paid)
- Parnassia aan zee, Parnassiaweg 1 Overveen (paid)
- Koningshof estate, Duinlustweg 26 Overveen
- Buitenplaats Elswout, Elswoutlaan 14 Overveen
- Buitenplaats Beeckestijn, Rijksweg 134 Velsen-Zuid
Places of interest during this route are:
- Visitor center the Kennemerduinen
- Just after the visitor center, several memorial stones in the dune area mark the places where executions took place during WWII.
- Large grazers in the dune area such as Scottish Highlanders, Konik horses and Exmoor ponies.
- Beautiful dune area with diverse flora and fauna
- Various estates and country estates such as Duin en Kruidberg, Beeckestijn, Koningshof and Elswout.
There are several attractive catering establishments along the route where you can take a well-deserved break:
