Tour of the Amerongen forests and Maurik

Cycle with the wind in your hair while enjoying beautiful forests, vast fields, and floodplains. This cycling route has it all. The first part of the route explores the Amerongse forests, one of the oldest forests in the Utrechtse Heuvelrug. Some Scots pines date back to 1770. A bonus feature of this route is that you take the ferry twice to cross the Lower Rhine (be sure to check the ferry schedule before you leave!). Then you cycle past Maurik and Eck en Wiel. Enjoy the beautiful floodplains and the stunning Dutch landscape. You end the cycling route where you started: Fietscafé de Proloog in Amerongen. Here you can reflect on the route with a delicious snack and drink.
