Description

Ebern is not only known for its well-preserved old town, but also for its numerous castles, palaces and ruins. To explore these, you start on the Eiswiese, through the forest to the two huge oak-topped entrance to Felsenburg Rotenhan (a ruin since 1323). Along the large trees along the street you get a view of Eyrichshof Castle, from where you go to the ruins of Raueneck, the remains of which still impress with their enormous size. On the way back you will pass the Jungfernkreuz and head in the direction of Vorbach, with beautiful views and a well laid road back to Ebern.
