Ferry route Loevestein

Before you put on your walking shoes, you first drink a cup of coffee at De Pannekoekenbakker Woudrichem. Then you take the ferry to Slot Loevestein. This beautiful castle was built in 1361 in a thoroughly Dutch river landscape, where the Maas and Waal meet. A ferry transfers you to the Waaldijk, which you follow to Gorinchem. Here you take the ferry back to Woudrichem. All ferries today go via River , they also have different day tickets. Bicycles can be taken on board for free at all foot and bicycle ferries. Please note: from Gorinchem you cannot sail to Woudrichem on Sundays from October to April. For the Gorinchem or Woudrichem route to Slot Loevestein, a cheap water taxi is available on days when there is no regular ferry service.
