Loevestein ferry route

Before you put on your walking shoes, have a cup of coffee at De Pannekoekenbakker Woudrichem. Then take the ferry to Loevestein Castle. This beautiful castle was built in 1361 in a typical Dutch river landscape, where the Maas and Waal meet. A ferry takes you across to the Waaldijk, which you follow to Gorinchem. Here you take the ferry back to Woudrichem. All ferries today go via Riveer , they also have various day tickets. Bicycles can be taken on board for free on all pedestrian and bicycle ferries. Please note: from Gorinchem you cannot sail to Woudrichem on Sundays from October to April. For the route Gorinchem or Woudrichem to Loevestein Castle, a cheap water taxi is available on days when there is no regular ferry service.
