After an overnight stay at Camping de Waps, near the lovely Oudemirdum, you get on your bike. You first cycle straight through the Fonteinbos to the Wyldemerk. A long time ago an annual fair was held here, hence the name. Sand extraction has created a large lake, which is connected to De Luts (part of the Eleven Cities Route). Sand martins nest in the sand bank and part of it is designated as a dragonfly reserve. Take a break at Rijsterbosch! You cycle along the dike of the IJsselmeer to the cozy Oudemirdum where you should definitely get off. You will pass the Fontein, a church from 1790. In Nijemirdum you will see a solitary church tower from the fourteenth century. The accompanying church was demolished in the eighteenth century.
Below you will find various suggestions for breaks that you can visit during your route. These are divided into different categories, making it easy for you to choose.
