During this cycling route you will discover the surroundings of Ath (in French: Ath), a small city in the north of the province of Hainaut. The route starts in authentic Geraardsbergen, where you can admire everything from castles to workers' houses, abbeys and industrial buildings. Then you cycle south towards the Arkenbos. Take a quiet trip through a distinctly rural area and enjoy the nature around you. You arrive in the city of Ath, which is located at the confluence of the Eastern and Western Dender. Ath is known for its annual Giant Procession or Ducasse van Ath, which takes place every fourth Sunday of August. You follow the contours of the river Dender and cycle north again towards Geraardsbergen.
