Jo de Roo Cycling Route

This cycling tour would certainly appeal to Jo de Roo. The cyclist has won numerous stages in Zeeland purely on stubborn willpower, and a bit of perseverance is certainly required for this race with its climbs, cobblestones, and sections outside the dikes. The route takes in South Beveland, with its many orchards, and a bit of North Brabant, and cycles along both the Eastern and Western Scheldt estuaries. De Roo wasn't a fan of stage races; he enjoyed one-day races the most, winning quite a few of them. He often won sprints by charging forward from a position at the back. His peak years were 1962 and 1963, when he won the Tour of Lombardy and Paris-Tours twice. He was also a two-time Dutch national champion.
