On the edge of Dwingeloo lies B&B De Ster van Dwingeloo. In 2012, this village was declared the greenest in the Netherlands. From here you can cycle straight into the Dwingelderveld National Park. Can you spot the flock of sheep and its shepherd? They still roam freely here. Halfway you end up in the picturesque Ruinen. Just like Dwingeloo, this is a village on the village green. In general, these villages originated in the High Middle Ages. The cattle were kept on the village green and the residents planted poplars and oaks. This wood was then used for building. The village green was often located in the heart of the village and markets were held there. After about 25 kilometers you will arrive back at your starting point. Enjoy the peace and quiet at your beautiful B&B.
Below you will find various suggestions for breaks that you can visit during your route. These are divided into different categories, making it easy for you to choose.
