From Oldemarkt through Weerribben-Wieden and Giethoorn

Oldemarkt is located at the highest point of Overijssel, just below Friesland. This 45 kilometer long cycle route through green and water-rich landscape begins and ends at Restaurant het Hof van Holland, a household name in this village. After just a few kilometers you cycle into the Weerribben-Wieden National Park. With approximately 10,000 hectares, this is the largest contiguous wetland area in northwest Europe. Here you cycle through a labyrinth of mysterious-looking swamp forests, lakes, creeks and flowery meadows. Crab squirrel and water lily grow in and around the waters. The fields are decorated with cuckoo flowers, orchids and yellow iris. You cycle back to Oldemarkt via beautiful Giethoorn. End your day with a delicious dinner or a tasty snack at Restaurant het Hof van Holland.
